The Orvis Company launched its iPhone and Android rich apps. The apps complement all of Orvis' cross-channel touch points including retail stores, e-commerce, catalogs, and a mobile-optimized website.

The Orvis iPhone and Android apps, powered by the Digby Mobile Platform, provide features that include:
•    Search and browse capabilities to buy merchandise through the enhanced user interface
•    Categories that are easy and efficient to navigate
•    Product descriptions to make purchase decisions straightforward
•    Complete site search capability and store locators to make mobile shopping effortless
•    Sharing capabilities through Facebook, Twitter and email

Orvis' new mobile apps and enhanced smartphone-optimized website enter the market at an opportune time. A recent study by Ipsos and PayPal found that at least 46 percent of consumers plan to make purchases from a smartphone this holiday season.
