One Percent for the Planet has retained TDA Advertising and Design of Boulder and Backbone Media of Carbondale, Colorado as their respective graphic and public relations agencies to strengthen their marketing presence and expand upon their brand messaging.

“We are thrilled to work with these two groups. They will provide great insight and expertise as our member-network continues to grow,” states Strick Walker, Chief Marketing and Development Officer. Walker continues, ” Our goal at 1% is to educate business leaders that collectively we are the force of significant change, ensuring that environment and business interests coexist profitably in the future.”

Thomas Dooley, Founder of TDA in Boulder adds, “The beauty of 1% is the simplicity of the concept. It is easy for consumers to become active by identifying manufacturers who support the program.” Dooley adds, “Our aim is to deepen the understanding and relevance of 1% to both business leaders worldwide and consumers while revealing the potential and real world impact of this organization moving forward.”

1% FTP was founded in 2001 by Patagonia leader Yvon Chouinard and Craig Matthews, owner of Blue Ribbon Flies in Yellowstone Montana on the belief that sustainability is a principle that extends beyond business practice and must be embraced by the private sector to effect positive change for the future. 1% FTP is a transparent, three person non-profit in Newburyport, Massachusetts, that certifies both members and the charities that individual members select as their annual cause. No donation money travels through 1%, keeping the process streamline, direct and effective.

“Environmental responsibility doesn't have to be about sacrifice – it can add real value to your life and to your business,” continues Walker. “There are tangible benefits to making responsible decisions and living a more examined life. Just ask our members.”
