Outdoor Industry Foundation Board of Directors formed a search committee and initiated a national search to recruit its first ever Executive Director.

“One of the most important issues affecting our industry and our nation today is the inactivity crisis in children—- tomorrow’s consumers, business leaders, outdoor participants and stewards of the environment,” said Jay Steere, VP of Global Product Development/Outdoor Performance at Timberland and chair of the Outdoor Industry Foundation. “It is imperative that we collaborate through the Foundation to address this trend and ensure the health of not only our industry, but the nation as a whole.”

“The Foundation has made great strides over the last few years in its programs and we are extremely grateful to Michelle Barnes and her staff for their contributions,” said Frank Hugelmeyer, president of Outdoor Industry Association (OIA). “As a community, we are in a unique position to make a real difference in the future health of young Americans and the time is right to raise our Foundation outreach efforts to a national level.”
