Oboz has named Christian Mason as its national sales manager. Starting June 15, Mason will lead Oboz’ independent sales force for North America, and develop overall strategies and tactics to fuel the outdoor footwear company’s continued growth in the U.S. market.

“We’re so very excited to have Christian join us at Oboz,” said John Connelly, president and founder of Oboz, which began shipping its footwear to dealers in 2008. “He has a very strong background in sales management, marketing, and solid relationships in the industry.   We’ll work as a team on key accounts while I build our international business. Together, and with the Oboz team, we intend to create a world class, global brand.”

Mason has 20 years in the industry and most recently contributed to significantly growing the German brand Deuter’s US business and successfully repositioning Ortovox USA in the market. Before that he worked for Petzl America, Kelty, Mountainsmith and other companies in roles including sales, product line and marketing management.

“I see authentic and meaningful story-telling opportunities that will take Oboz to the next level,” said Mason. “I believe I can relay the spirit of the brand to the industry and educate and motivate retailers to solidify their commitment to Oboz, and ultimately, maximize sales.”

A native of Colorado, Mason is a graduate of Western State College in Gunnison, with a B.A. in Business Administration. He can be reached at cmason@obozfootwear.com or 303. 885. 4944.
