Bill Hampton, Under Armour’s senior director of professional leagues, died unexpectedly on his way to the airport after the ESPY Awards in Los Angeles, according to the Baltimore Business Journal. The cause of death is undetermined.

Hampton, 51, had worked at Under Armour since 2006. The report stated he was well known across sports marketing and merchandising circles, and had previously held merchandising positions with the NFL league office and with the Cleveland Browns.

Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank called Hampton “one of the most beloved people on our brand” in an internal e-mail Thursday morning.
