Brett Allsop, a co-founder of Fogdog, died in a car accident in Bellingham, WA, according to Bellingham Herald. Allsop, 38, was most recently chairman and co-founder of Seattle-based Yapta, an online travel site that tracks airfares and hotel prices.
Allsop co-founded Yapta in 2006. He co-founded Fogdog, one of the early online sporting goods e-commerce sites, in 1994. In 2000, Fogdog was sold to GSI Commerce. Allsop then joined Amadeus Capital in London where he evaluated investment opportunities in software. In 2003, he became president of his family’s business, Bellingham-based Allsop Inc., a computer and consumer electronic accessories company.
Allsop was a Stanford University engineering alum, and was married with two children.
