Nordstrom, Inc. plans to open a new Nordstrom Rack at Middlesex Commons in Burlington, MA. The 38,000-square-foot store is expected to open in fall 2011.

“We're excited about this opportunity at Middlesex Commons and look forward to giving customers another way to shop with us in Burlington,” said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. “This is a growing market and we think our newest Nordstrom Rack will help us better serve more customers in the Boston area.”

The new Nordstrom Rack store will be next to Old Navy and is part of the redevelopment effort at Middlesex Commons. The store will be located about a half mile south of Nordstrom's full-line store at Burlington Mall. This will be the company's third Nordstrom Rack in the greater Boston area, joining the Liberty Tree Mall Nordstrom Rack in Danvers and Shopper's World Nordstrom Rack in Framingham. Middlesex Commons is owned and operated by Edens & Avant.

“Nordstrom Rack brings a unique synergy to our redevelopment. Along with additional soft goods retailers, local restaurants, a high-end wine and liquor store and a 100,000 square-foot Market Basket, Nordstrom Rack will offer the surrounding community a wonderful product offering,” commented Elizabeth Furnelli, vice president for Edens & Avant. “We are excited to be working with these fantastic retailers and the town of Burlington, local officials and neighborhood groups in creating a unique retail mix for the local community. As we complete our multi-million dollar redevelopment, we look forward to announcing additional retailers in the coming weeks.”
