Oregon athletics is about to get a big, new deal with Nike, according to a report from the Oregonian.
The report says that Nike has offered to pay Oregon $2 million to $2.5 million a year in cash and provide $5 million to $6 million worth of apparel and other gear per year for various Oregon sports programs. It’s an $88 million deal over 11 years. The Oregon board of Trustees will vote on the proposed deal next Thursday.
This is a large increase in the current deal, which runs through June 2018 that pays Oregon $750,000 a year in cash and $2.5 million a year worth of apparel and other gear.
