Nike Sports Camps began offering youth ultimate camps supporting Ultimate Frisbee at 6 locations nationwide in 2013 and has expanded their Nike Ultimate Camp offerings to include over a dozen summer locations and a spring camp location for 2015.

Nike
Ultimate Camps is the largest youth ultimate camp network in the world. US Sports Camps (USSC), headquartered in San Rafael, CA, is
America’s largest sports camp network and the licensed operator of Nike
Sports Camps.

“We have worked hard to expand our youth ultimate camps network,” said
Charlie Hoeveler, founder and CEO of US Sports Camps. “Ultimate teaches
self-esteem, confidence, sportsmanship, team concept and positive
attitude. It feels great to impart such important lessons upon our
campers and to be able to offer quality camps in this highly athletic,
fast-paced sport.”

US Sports Camps noted in its statement that Ultimate Frisbee (simply referred to as “Ultimate”) is one of the
fastest growing sports in the United States and is played in more than
80 countries across the globe by an estimated 7 million people. This non-contact sport is a combination of
soccer’s non-stop movement and flow, combined with American football’s
accurate aerial passing. Similar to football, the game of Ultimate is
played by two teams of players (7 on each side), trying to score by
catching a flying disc or Frisbee in the opponent’s end zone. Ultimate
is played at many levels including middle school and high school
leagues, college club, and professional city teams.

Ultimate is
still dominated by adult athletes, but the global ultimate community has
been working hard to spread this sport to the youth level. In the last
few years, there has been a rapid emergence of new high school teams,
youth programs, and summer camps.
