Nike, Inc. today announced the official opening of its Nike Factory Store at Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, FL. The more than 25,000 square foot retail outlet will employ a total of 90 full and part-time staff.

“Nike is very excited to open our newest Factory Store at the Sawgrass Mills Outlet mall. The center offers an excellent opportunity to present our brand. In return, were able to create jobs and, through our community involvement, provide support to kids in the Sunrise area,” said Ed Stair, Nike Factory Store General Manager.

To celebrate the grand opening, Nike awarded a $5,000 cash and product grant to the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County — Florence A. DeGeorge Unit. The donation is a part of NikeGO, Nike’s signature U.S. community affairs initiative aimed at getting kids more physically active. Sam Jordan, Director of Operations for the Boys and Girls Club of Broward County, attended the grand opening ceremony and accepted the donation on behalf of the club.

“On behalf of the boys and girls of the Florence A. DeGeorge Unit, I want to thank you for your commitment to the youth of our community. You will certainly fill a great need on many levels and I look forward to working with you and supporting your efforts at your new location,” said Jordan.

Nike’s other Factory stores in Florida are locations in Florida City, Orlando, St. Augustine, Sarasota, Kissimmee, Estero and Ellenton.
