Nike Golf added a number of golf ambassadors, including Patrick Reed, the five-time PGA Tour winner.
Reed, ranked 24th in the Official World Golf Ranking, had worn Callaway apparel. Reed signed his first official equipment and apparel deal with Nike after turning pro in 2011 but left for Callaway in 2013. Reed will wear Nike apparel and footwear. Nike left the golf equipment category in 2016 and it’s uncertain what clubs Reed will use.
Other new ambassadors include Englishman Chris Wood, a 2016 Ryder Cup player and three-time European tour winner,; as will college standouts Cameron Champ and Jimmy Stanger. Alex Noren is also a head-to-toe Nike athlete while Lee Westwood and Si Woo Kim will wear Nike footwear.
Champ, a Texas A&M grad, turned heads at the U.S. Open when he made the cut as an amateur and went on to contend for much of the event. Stanger is a former All-American who graduated from the University of Virginia.
Nike’s golf ambassadors include Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Michelle Wie, Jason Day and Brooks Koepka.
