Nike landed 28 on Brand Finance’s ‘Global 500 2017” ranking of the most valuable brands. Nike moved from 29 the prior year.
Among other brands in the active apparel space, Adidas jumped up to 138 from 189 in 2016. Under Armour moved up to 275 from 374. The North Face reached 480, slightly down from 469. The full list is here.
In its ranking of the top 500 U.S. brands, Nike landed at 17, up from 18 the prior year. Under Armour was 109 against 156; The North Face, 200 against 200; Dick’s Sporting Goods, 278 versus 371; Skechers, 357 against 253; Foot Locker, 367, up from 524; Timberland, 415 versus 398; and Converse, 432, up from 522 in 2016.
Globally, the top-ten brands in 2017 were Apple, Google, Microsoft, Verizon, GE, AT&T, Amazon, Walmart, IBM and Coca-Cola.
