Nike has acquired TraceMe, the Seattle-based startup originally founded by Russell Wilson, the star quarterback of the Seattle Seahawks.

Founded in 2017, TraceMe was originally built an app to let fans engage with sports stars and other celebrities. In 2018, the business shifted focus to a service called Tally, a sports prediction app. The free-to-play app offers real cash prize payouts to users who can make the most accurate prediction on games.

Nike said in a statement released to media, “NIKE, Inc. has acquired TraceMe to supplement the company’s content strategy on Nike-owned platforms.”

The news was first reported by TechCrunch.

In 2017, TraceMe raised a $9 million round from investors such as Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, YouTube founder Chad Hurley, Alibaba co-founder Joe Tsai, and Seattle-based Madrona Venture Group. At the time, its valuation was $60 million.
