Nielsen Holdings N.V. said operating income at its Expositions segment reached $30 million on revenues of $64 million in the third quarter ended Sept. 30, compared to operating income of $29 million on revenues of $63 million in the third quarter of 2010.
Operating income at the segment was $30 million, up from $29 million a year earlier.
For the nine months ending Sept. 30, operating income rose to $61 million on revenues of $158 million, compared to $55 million on revenues of $150 million for the comparable period a year earlier.
Nielsen Expositions segment operates one of the largest portfolios of business-to-business trade shows in the United States. Each year, it produces approximately 40 trade shows, including Outdoor Retailer, Interbike and Health & Fitness Business. The segments attracted 270,000 buyers and sellers across 20 industries to all its shows in 2010.
