The National Golf Foundation (NGF) released its latest list of the Top 100 Golf Businesses it recognizes to be the “most influential, successful, prominent and innovative companies on the commercial side of the U.S. golf industry.”
The list includes companies and brands that sell products and services primarily targeted to golfers and golf courses and conduct all, or a majority of, their business in the United States.
The list does not rank but is intended as a who’s-who across various sectors of the golf industry, including equipment, apparel, retail, media, turf maintenance and course supplies, software and consumer technology, developers and builders, management companies, and others.
The representatives include a portfolio company (Acushnet), equipment manufacturers (TaylorMade and PING), apparel and accessory brands (Adidas and AHead), golf retailers (PGA Tour Superstore), instruction and club-fitting company (GolfTec), golf management companies (Troon), turf care and irrigation businesses (Toro).
Associations and tours were recognized separately in a shift for the third edition of NGF’s Top 100 list.
The list also highlights the commercial side of the golf business, focusing on companies that sell goods or services geared toward consumers and golf courses.
