Through a sub-license agreement, Stylemark Inc. will become the exclusive producer and distributor within specialists in the sport and department store channels for Columbia Sportswear Sunglasses. L’Amy America holds the worldwide eyewear license for Columbia Sportswear.

Stylemark, Inc., based in Ormond Beach, Fla., makes sunglass and eyewear under StyleScience, Riviera, Polaroid Eyewear, Personal Optics and Lantis Eyewear. L’Amy America's sunwear and ophthalmic frames include Theory, Proenza-Schouler, Nina Ricci, Chloe, Lanvin, Columbia, and Pacific Trail.

“We are very pleased to announce this sub-license agreement for the non-optical, sporting goods channel and department stores,” said Stephen Rappoport, president of L’Amy America. “This partnership, in both the U.S. and Canada, will enable our product development and marketing teams to work hand-in-hand to ensure Columbia Sunwear’s continued success in these two important channels of distribution. We look forward to working with the Stylemark team.”

L’Amy America holds the worldwide license for all Columbia Eyewear, both ophthalmic and sunwear, and Rappoport emphasized the company will continue to build upon the successful optical distribution it has strongly established over the past seven years. L’Amy America recently signed a multi-year extension with Columbia Sportswear.

“We are excited to have the opportunity to build the Columbia sunwear business in non-optical channels in partnership with L’Amy,” said Mark Ascik, CEO of Stylemark. He added, “The better sport sunglass category has been a target market for us and now we have a premier sport performance brand to meet the market’s needs.” The first collection for sport specialty stores and non-optical retail stores from Stylemark will be available for the Spring 2010 season.

L’Amy America,  based in Wilton, Conn., is part of the L’Amy Group, at 200 years old, one of the oldest optical frame manufacturers in the world.
