Seattle-based nuun active hydration has appointed Evan Wert into the newly created position of specialty sports sales manager. That puts him in charge of developing, managing and overseeing the specialty channels of Run, Outdoor, Bike, and Snow Sports. He will also be working with marketing and operations to develop a long-range strategy to support, service and grow these markets to the full potential.

Nuun’s founder, Tim Moxey said the company needs someone with Wert’s experience in driving and developing sales for small brands. “He has the experience we need to build nuun to the next level in Specialty, said COO Laura Hughes.

Wert brings with him over 15 years on the retail side and was most recently the VP of sales for Isis for Women, one of the leaders in women’s specific sports and outerwear. Evan has also managed and owned various sporting goods stores including one of the first custom ski boot shops in the United States. He has over 17 years in the wholesale sector, with over 12 years with Superfeet, a leader in the after-market insole business. Wert was instrumental in building and pioneering the innovative sales and marketing programs for Superfeet.

“nuun is working hard to help dealers understand this emerging category, and they have a strong desire to partner with dealers to help them grow,” said Wert. “This aligns with my passions, and I am so pleased they have invited me to be a part of it.”

Evan is active in cycling, skiing, hiking. He is committed to finding a balance of family and work and he and his wife are committed to recycling and alternative transportation. He is also active in fighting breast cancer, as his sister is a survivor.
