New Era Cap Company has hired Crystal Howard as New Era's first corporate communications manager. Howard will report to John DeWaal, vice president of global marketing. She will be located in the company's Derby, N.Y. headquarters.
In this newly created role, Howard will serve as New Era's point person on all external and internal communications activities. She will be responsible for identifying, securing and cultivating external relationships that will drive the company's business objectives and marketing strategies in all of its target markets (Corporate, Fan, Performance, Suburban and Urban). Her responsibilities will also include event development and product placement.
Howard has worked in corporate communications and public relations in several industries including magazine and book publishing, sports, non-profits, electricity, automotive retailing and entertainment. She has worked as both a freelancer and on the client and agency side in New York City for Foote, Cone & Belding, Westhill Partners, Bad Boy Entertainment and United Auto Group. Howard is a 2002 graduate of the Graduate School of Journalism, Columbia University.
