New Balance filed a lawsuit against Italian Serie A club Roma for signing a new long-term agreement with Adidas despite New Balance exercising its right of first refusal.
According to Il Messaggero, New Balance matched Adidas’ offer. The Italian newspaper reported that a verdict is expected on February 11.
Reports arrived last summer that Adidas would become the new technical sponsor of Roma for the 2023/24 season although the deal has not been formally announced.
Roma switched from Nike to New Balance in 2021 under an initial two-year agreement.
