The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc. announced that for the four weeks ending November 26, 2005, total revenues increased 6.6% to $328 million from $308 million last year. Comparable store revenues increased 4.0% for the period to $318 million.
In the four-week November period, comparable revenues in the Specialty Retail Stores segment, which includes Neiman Marcus stores and Bergdorf Goodman, increased 2.8%. Revenue growth trends were the strongest in the company's stores in the Southeast and West Coast. The merchandise categories in the Specialty Retail Stores segment that performed the strongest included women's contemporary sportswear and fine apparel, men's clothing and shoes, designer handbags and designer jewelry.
Comparable revenues at Neiman Marcus Direct for the four-week November period increased 8.2%. The top selling merchandise categories in the Direct Marketing segment included jewelry, shoes, handbags, women's apparel, home decor, furniture and rugs.
The Neiman Marcus Group plans to report first quarter earnings on Thursday, December 8, 2005. The company will host a conference call the same day that will be simultaneously webcast.
The company's four-week reporting period is consistent with last year and reflects a 4-5-4 week second quarter.
