The NBA Store on Fifth Avenue had its best March ever with a 46% sales increase over last year. Since the beginning of the 2007-08 season, sales at the NBA Store are up over 17% versus last year as the regular season enters its final week. Spurred by one of the best on-court seasons in NBA history, the Store will have its best sales year ever for the 2007-08 season breaking last year’s record.

Online sales at NBAStore.com have also eclipsed all previous records with a 34% increase over last year for the month of March and a season-long increase of 17% – marking the best season in the history of the site.

Sales increases can be attributed in part to the overall interest in the Boston Celtics across all product categories.  Other teams that have improved their play on the court have contributed to increased overall sales including the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State Warriors, and Western Conference leading New Orleans Hornets. The adidas “GameTime” t-shirt has been the most popular product this season and jerseys continue to be among the top selling items.

In March, the NBA Store on Fifth Avenue began a six-month celebration of its 10th anniversary.  The Store will celebrate its 10th season with a variety of events and promotions including: “It’s in the Bag” – a shopping bag spotter program where street teams award prizes to fans they find holding NBA Store shopping bags; appearances by NBA Store celebrity concierges who will help guests shop; and NBA and WNBA player and Legend appearances. In addition, the NBA Store’s 10 millionth visitor will be honored with an all-expense paid trip to the 2009 NBA All-Star Game.

Traffic to the NBA Store this season is up over 32% versus last year. International traffic to the NBA Store accounts for almost 45% of all visitors.
