SPORT OBERMEYER, LTD., a leading manufacturer of winter sports apparel is seeking a National Sales Manager. Reporting to the president of the company, the successful candidate will be responsible for the development of growth strategies and sales programs. The candidate should also have knowledge of the key retail players within the winter sports market, and have established contacts and relationships within those accounts. In addition, previous success in setting and driving short/ long term sales strategies and successful management of a nationwide sales force is required. International Sales experience is not necessary but will be considered a plus in the evaluation of any candidate.

The position will be based in Aspen, Colorado and will include extensive travel during the selling season.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Key Account management
  • Presentations to existing and prospective accounts
  • Working with Marketing to develop POP and other support collateral
  • National and Regional Trade Show and event management
  • Development of retail based educational clinics for staff and consumers
  • Work closely with rep force to manage account development for success
  • Forecasting SKU and unit requirements annually
  • Organize, manage and direct sales meetings
  • Provide timely and detailed field reports to the president.
  • Working knowledge of Key Accounts

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or applicable experience within the industry, preferably in a functional area dealing with sales.
  2. 3 – 5 years of outdoor industry/winter sports industry sales experience.
  3. Strong presentation and communication skills (both verbal and written).
  4. Strong interpersonal skills.
  5. Analytic and strategic thinking skills.
  6. Ability to listen and understand customer needs.
  7. Ability to work professionally and efficiently within a team environment.
  8. Computer proficiency with intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office products – Excel, Word, PowerPoint .
  9. Position is based in Aspen, Colorado. Relocation available.
