Nathan signed rising star ultra runner, Hayden Hawks. At just 25 years old, Hayden is the youngest member of the Nathan pro team and will use Nathan hydration, visibility, and performance gear for both training and competition. He will also gear-test new products and technology, and represent the brand in global marketing initiatives.
“We’re proud to work with such a smart, talented, and motivated runner, who brings legit road speed and amazing climbing abilities that have already made a serious impact on the trail ultra running scene,” said Brent Hollowell, vice president of Marketing at Nathan. “We’re excited to support Hayden in achieving his goals, and to work together to develop products that continue to allow athletes of all levels to run stronger and run longer.”
Known for his signature “power-mustache”, Hayden continues to build an impressive running resume which includes:
· 1st place – 2016 Speedgoat 50K trail race in Utah
· 2nd place – 2016 The North Face Endurance 50-mile Challenge
· 1st place – Moab’s Red Hot 55K trail race in February
Building on this momentum, Hayden has his sights set on some of the most prestigious trail and ultra races in 2017.
“Hayden epitomizes the caliber of demanding athlete that we strive to work with across all brands, as he will truly test the physical limits of our products,” said Tony Armand, CEO of United Sports Brands, parent company of Nathan. “The elite pro perspective helps us push the boundaries of innovation that results in products that allow athletes of all levels to enjoy their sport more.”
Hawks joins Nathan’s roster of elite endurance athletes and ultra running stars, including Rob Krar, Stephanie Howe, Jim Walmsley, Zach Miller, Camille Herron, Emily Harrison, Sage Canaday, and Michael Wardian, along with Olympian and World Champion triathlete Andy Potts, and U.S. Olympic Marathoner, Desiree Linden.
