In support of significant growth over the past year and with future expansion plans in mind, Mountainsmith and parent company, 105 Meridien, announce the opening of their new corporate production office in Hong Kong. The office will facilitate management of the company’s Asian-based factories and suppliers. Development, sourcing, and production for Mountainsmith’s growing business, as well as the business of 105 Meridien’s OEM partners, will be coordinated from the new office.

According to Greg Thomsen, president of Mountainsmith, “2004 is Mountainsmith’s 25th anniversary and we are celebrating with banner growth. Our new Hong Kong office is part of a long-term expansion plan and confirmation of our commitment to both the Mountainsmith brand and to our OEM partners. We are focused on offering new products at the most competitive prices and with the best materials and workmanship available. The Hong Kong office will help us achieve these goals.”

105 Meridien is a well-established ODM (original design manufacturer), designing, developing, sourcing, and manufacturing sewn goods for well-established clients with strong brand equity and awareness. . The company has a second office in Taichung, Taiwan and a third is scheduled to open in Shanghai on June 1 of this year. The expansion of the Asian offices lends proximity to the company’s factories and allows quick response on all issues.

The company has its own people staffing the Asian offices. They review and approve the quality of their factories on an
ongoing basis, including the strictest “Code of Compliance” requirements to ensure the highest levels of quality, human rights, and environmental practices.
