Armed with a customized Land Rover upholstered in 10.4 oz cotton canvas, an itinerary featuring over fifty stops and a truckload of pants built for the mountain life, two Mountain Khakis ambassadors are ready to spread the word of the pant.

Starting on May 22, Jordan Hauser and Nahum Navas will lead the Mountain Khakis Built for the Mountain Life Tour to various festivals and specialty retailers along the Atlantic coastline, from the Appalachian Trail to the peaks of the Adirondacks.

“The Built for the Mountain Life Tour is designed to allow us to interact directly with our dealers and customers,” said Founding Partner Mac Lackey. “We continue our commitment to strengthening our rapport with and support of our dealers, and we look forward to the opportunity to share our vision for the brand and get feedback from the front lines.”

Mountain Khakis will mail posters and flyers to shops that they plan to visit, and have developed on-site contests allowing shop staff to win prizes from Mountain Khakis and other tour sponsors, including Cloudveil, Ryders Eyewear and Life-Link. The US National Whitewater Center will offer shop employees the chance to win a grand prize trip to their new outdoor adventure center outside of Charlotte, NC. A grand prize trip to Jackson Hole, including airfare, lodging at Teton Mountain Lodge and fly fishing with WorldCast Anglers, will be offered to both shop staff and consumers.

A signature website, www.builttour.com, will feature the tour itinerary, contest information and registration, and a blog. Hauser and Navad will submit daily entries to the blog, chronicling the people, places and events seen on their 2,000 mile trek. The website will go live on Monday, May 22, 2006.

The Built for the Mountain Life Tour will culminate at the Summer Market Outdoor Retailer Show in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the winner of the trip to Jackson Hole will be announced.
