Mountain High Outfitters expects to open its tenth retail location by year end to cap off a busy four months of opening, relocating, expanding and remodeling stores in Alabama and Georgia.
So far this year, Mountain High Outfitters (MHO) has relocated three stores to expanded and remodeled locations opened its ninth location. Founder and owner Christopher Groom expects to break ground soon on his newest location. It currently operates from nine retail locations throughout Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee as well as mountainhighoutfitters.com).
The company kicked off its remodeling binged in early September by relocating its store in Huntsville, AL, to a larger and more modern space at the Bridge Street Town Centre.
In mid-September, it opened a second location in Atlanta in Ponce City Market, which serves an urban neighborhood along the city's well-known Beltline, which won the 2015 Best Greenway at Interbike.
The next two major changes occurred in the Birmingham, AL market. First, was the expansion of Groom's initial location in the Riverchase Galleria Mall in Hoover, AL. This location has a fresh modern look and more than doubled in size. The other change was the relocation of the store in the Shops of Grand River in Leeds, AL northeast of Birmingham. MHO was in a temporary space for about a year, but moved to a permanent location.
The year will end with a bang as MHO begins construction on a second location in Huntsville, AL at the Shops at Merchants Walk, where the first Whole Foods in this area will open in November. Groom expects to complete construction of that store by the end of the year, allowing him to regroup and focus on plans for 2016, which include opening a new store in Tuscaloosa, AL in the spring.
