Modell’s Sporting Goods on Thursday will open its 11th location in Brooklyn as well as its first in Mount Kisco, NY.

The openings will bring its total store count to 156 locations.  Each of the locations will host a ceremonial ribbon cutting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 25 with members of the Modell’s Sporting Goods executive committee, including CEO Mitchell Modell, as well as members of the local communities.

The Brooklyn location is at 1117 Eastern Parkway (formerly Popular Community Bank). The 14,000-plus-square-foot location is minutes from Prospect Park and a short drive to the Barclays Center. The second location, at 12,000 plus square feet, will be located at 162 East Main Street in Mount Kisco (formerly Borders Books). Modell’s expects these new stores to add excitement and energy to both neighborhoods.

“Modell’s is thrilled to be able to open these two new locations right on the cusp of Back to School and fall sports season,” said CEO Mitchell Modell.  “We’re excited about the opportunity to bring Modell’s traditions and values to these new communities.”

In addition to unadvertised specials, customers arriving at Eastern Parkway or Mount Kisco during the Grand Opening celebration from Thursday to Sunday will have the opportunity to receive Modell’s gift cards or tickets from the New York Yankees, NYCFC, and Brooklyn Nets.

Modell’s will host multiple player meet and greets in both locations to celebrate the openings. At Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn Nets Power Forward Chris McCullough will appear in store on Friday, August 26 at 3 p.m., as well as New York Giants Offensive Tackle Ereck Flowers on Sunday, August 28 at 11 a.m. Mount Kisco will host NYCFC Defender RJ Allen on Thursday, August 25 at 5:30 p.m., followed by New York Giants Running Back Rashad Jennings on Sunday, August 28 at 11 a.m.
