Modells Sporting Goods has confirmed that Jeff Karten, its senior buyer for apparel, has retired.
In an e-mailed response, Mitchell Modell, CEO of Modell’s Sporting Goods, said, It is with mixed emotions that I announce the retirement of Jeff Karten, our Senior Buyer for Apparel. Jeff has been with Modells Sporting Goods for the past 17 years. He has been instrumental in building up the apparel business and taking it to another whole level. We all wish him many years of health and happiness as he begins this new chapter of his life.
Peter Hunt, formerly senior buyer main floor tops and big & tall sportswear at Burlington Coat Factory, will be replacing Karten.
