The Conservation Alliance organized special promotions with 15 member companies at the January Outdoor Retailer trade show that raised $40,000 during the four-day event. Also during the show, The Conservation Alliance celebrated the conclusion of its most productive year ever. In 2009, the organization contributed $900,000 to conservation organizations. Alliance grantees in turn delivered 21 conservation victories, protecting 10.5 million acres of land and 1,000 miles of rivers, removing one dam, and purchasing one climbing area.

We are honored that our members choose to support our conservation efforts with these creative fundraising events, said John Sterling, Conservation Alliance Executive Director. We also hope those members derive some branding benefit from partnering in this way.

Companies that hosted events are: Black Diamond; Brooks Running; CamelBak; Canada Goose; Columbia; Dansko; Eagle Creek; Grabber Warmers; Horny Toad; Montrail; NEMO Equipment; Osprey Packs; prAna; Ruff Wear; Stanley; and Timex.

Our members understand that now is the time to invest in conservation, said Sterling. We look forward to working with more of our members to host fundraising events like this.
