MC Sports Recognizes Vendors and Reps of the Year

MC Sports recognized their 2005 Equipment, Apparel, and Footwear Vendors and Reps of the Year at a recent training expo held in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan on March 14, 2006.

The 2005 Apparel Vendor of the Year was awarded to Nike. In addition to a strong sales performance and improved turn and GMROI, Nike’s support of associate training and in-store merchandising initiatives positioned them as the clear winner for fiscal 2005.

The 2005 Apparel Representative of the Year was awarded to Fred Weisberg. With over 35 years experience in the industry, Mr. Weisberg has called on every apparel buyer MC Sports has ever had. Mr. Weisberg was instrumental in the growth and performance of our private brand program.

The 2005 Footwear Vendor of the Year was presented to Asics. Tremendous sales growth and support of key marketing programs positioned Asics as the clear winner in the footwear category.

Mike Prock with Asics took home the 2005 Footwear Representative of the Year Award. Mr. Prock's outstanding support of sales training and marketing programs throughout the year was the foundation for Asics’ strong sales growth in 2005.

Champro was recognized as the 2005 Hardgoods Vendor of the Year. In addition to a strong sales gain in 2005, Champro distinguished themselves as a strong partner through their pre-ticketing and packaging initiatives. They were also instrumental in the growth of our private brand programs.

Kristen Markey was named as the 2005 Hardgoods Representative of the Year. With her support, MC Sports experienced a tremendous sales gain in the fitness category. She constantly and consistently monitored our inventory levels and insured we maximized our sales opportunities.

MC Sports Recognizes Vendors and Reps of the Year

At a recent Training Exp, MC Sports recognized their 2004 Equipment, Apparel, and Footwear Vendors and Reps of the Year. Easton Sports was selected as the Equipment Vendor of the Year and Tom Kaponowski of Wilson Team Sports was selected as the Equipment Rep of the Year. Under Armour and Ryan Lineberger of Under Armour were selected as the Apparel and Apparel Rep of the Year. Nike and Darion Trobetsky of Nike were selected as the Footwear Vendor and Footwear Rep of the Year. Over 200 MC Sports associates and over 100 members of the vendor community were on-hand for the presentation.
