MC Sports has elected Bill Boer, Senior Vice President of Information Systems and Marketing has been elected to the Board of Directors and appointed Secretary to the Corporation. Dan Winchester has been promoted to Vice President and General Merchandise Manager and Bob Slusser has been promoted to Divisional Merchandise Manager – Hardlines.

With these changes, MC Sports is positioned to better respond to our customer’s needs and to successfully grow our company.”

Mr. Boer joined MC Sports in 1986 as the Director of Distribution. His leadership proved to be instrumental in developing the distribution strategies necessary for the company to succeed as it tripled in size from 1986 to 1997. In 1997, Mr. Boer added the additional responsibilities of Information Systems, and in 1999, he was promoted to Senior Vice President. In 2002, Mr. Boer assumed the additional responsibility of directing the marketing strategies for the company. His newly assumed role as a member of the Board of Directors will enable him to better support and direct the strategic initiatives of the company.

Mr. Winchester, a 16-year veteran of MC Sports, joined the merchandising team as the Buyer of winter and summer sports in 1994. He was promoted to Divisional Merchandise Manager of Hardlines in June of 1997. In his new role as General Merchandise Manager, Dan’s experience and leadership will be very valuable in coordinating the merchandise strategies for footwear, apparel and equipment.

Inventory management, gross margin return on investment, and strong promotional programming will be at the core of every business plan we develop with our vendors.”

Mr. Slusser joined the merchandise team 1984 as Buyer for the fitness and golf categories. Since 1984, Bob has purchased a variety of categories including golf, tennis, pools, bikes and fitness. His leadership will be vital in continuing our success in the hardgood categories.
