Outdoor apparel and equipment manufacturer, Marmot Mountain, LLC, announced six internal promotions and one external new hire, including several newly created positions.
Andy Welling was originally hired at Marmot in October, 2006 as Marmots director of sales. Since then he has forged an excellent relationship with dealers and Marmots independent sales groups. Welling has been promoted as the companys newly appointed VP of sales, North America. His key responsibilities include developing long-term sales strategies, sales forecasting, managing 36 independent reps, and key account development throughout North America.
Karen Smith began her career with Marmot in 2000 and throughout the past decade has overseen the companys merchandising program. Smith has recently been promoted as Marmots director of business development. Her key responsibilities include supporting the companys long-range sales and marketing objectives, visual merchandising programs and brand image at retail.
Andrew W. Tommila has played a key role in Marmots customer and dealer services since he was hired in 1998. Tommila has been promoted to a newly created position: director of dealer services. His key responsibilities include managing dealer service and the long range customer service roles for both Marmot and Marker Ltd.
Garrett Waldron began working with Marmot in 2007. Since then, hes overseen inventory planning and order fulfillment. Waldron has been recently promoted to director inventory management-another new position at Marmot. His responsibilities include continued process improvements to ensure supply chain excellence.
Lisa Molvig started her has career in Marmots marketing department in 2002 as a part-time graphic designer. Molvig has recently been promoted to the newly created full-time position of graphic design manager. Her key responsibilities include designing and managing all print advertising, in-store POP materials and trade show graphics for Marmot.
Kevin Kunkel was hired in 2008 in Marmots customer service department. Hes recently been promoted to a newly created position: international account manager. Kunkel will oversee customer service for key domestic customers along with all international distributors and subsidiaries: Marmot Mountain Canada (MMC) and Marmot Mountain Europe (MME).
Wade Woodfill has more than 15 years of development experience in the outdoor industry. Since October, 2009 Woodfill has provided contract services to the company assisting in hardgoods development. Woodfill is now the companys category merchandising manager (Hardgoods) overseeing backpacks, tents, sleeping bags and accessories-ushering in the next phase of Marmots product development.
