Louisville Slugger, the maker of the number one bat in Major League Baseball, signed Adam Jones, All-Star centerfielder for the Baltimore Orioles and centerfielder for Team USA in the 2013 World Baseball Classic. Jones will swing the historic bat makers new and innovative MLB Prime bats.

“We are very happy to have Adam join the Slugger Family,” said Louisville Slugger Manager of Professional Baseball Sales Chuck Schupp. “Adam is the kind of guy we always look to sign.  Hes an influence player and a leader. We are continually looking for the impact player to trust the brand and be the ‘Guy for Slugger.”

Jones, a San Diego, Calif., native, is one of MLBs great young stars.  He has hit 95 home runs over the last four seasons and led the Orioles to the American League postseason in 2012.  He has swung Louisville Slugger bats over his young career while also trying bats from a few other companies. He told Louisville Slugger hes ready for stability, something hes confident the 129-year-old bat maker will provide. He will join Louisville Slugger Prime 9 players such Buster Posey, Josh Hamilton, Joey Votto, David Wright and Brandon Phillips.  Jones will swing a 34-inch, 32-ounce J129 model ash Louisville Slugger bat with a Tony Gwynn finish.

MLB PRIME-THE HARDEST BATS. EVER.

MLB Prime bats will make their debut in Major League Baseball when the 2013 regular season opens.  Louisville Slugger MLB Prime bats are made from the highest-quality furniture-grade veneer logs.  They are cut and dried in the Amish craftsmanship tradition.  MLB Prime barrels are hardened by Louisville Sluggers proprietary 360-degree compression.  Finally, they receive Louisville Sluggers new Advanced Finish System with 9H on the universal hardness scale, 30 percent harder than the finish on competitors bats.

The same highest-quality-available MLB Prime wood bats that Jones and other big leaguers will swing are also available for amateur players at retail.
