Savino Carbotta took over the position of Sales & Marketing Manager of the Lotto Sport Deutschland GmbH Munich commercial agency.

For several years Savino Carbotta, 46, worked as Key-Account Manager at Umbro, with specific experience in Germany. He has had previous professional experience at Puma and Reebok.

Germany, a strategic market for Lotto Sport Italia SpA, closed the year 2003 with a €7 million turnover, an increase of 75% compared to 2002, which had achieved a €4 million turnover. With a €5.1 million turnover, the football/five-a-side football sector is the most important one, followed by tennis with €1.5 million and leisurewear with €400,000. A turnover of approximately €8.5 million is expected for 2004.

In support of the strategic importance Germany has for Lotto and to foster business, in 2003 two important total look (sportswear and shoes) sponsorship contracts ending in 2008 were signed with Borussia Mönchengladbach (1. Bundesleague) and F.S.V. Mainz 05 (2. Bundesleague). In addition to these two teams, Lotto has a sports-shoes-only supply contract with Alemannia Aachen, a 2. Bundesleague team. More than 100 footballers wear Lotto shoes in Germany.

New Sales & Marketing Manager Savino Carbotta will work in synergy with the Montebelluna headquarters and will be in charge of managing the Lotto sales network in Germany as well as reinforcing the presence of the Lotto brand name in the country. “I am certain that in the next few months we will obtain further remarkable results” – commented Savino Carbotta –, “thanks also to the excellent quality and design of the new Lotto collections, which we will present at the next ISPO fair held in Munich in February.”
