L.L. Bean plans to add 100 new jobs in 2012 at its boot-making factory in Brunswick, Maine.
Jack Samson, who oversees manufacturing at both the Brunswick and Lewiston plants, told necn.com that sales have been climbing since 2007.
“You look around and you'll find a lot of college campuses, everybody's wearing Bean boots. It's a trendy thing.”
The company expects to sell more than a half million pairs this year.
