Spyder, the skiwear brand that's outfitted the U.S. Ski Team in performance race suits and training outerwear since 1989, entered into an agreement with America's most successful ski racer, Lindsey Vonn, to promote consumer sales of Vonn-inspired custom graphic alpine downhill race suits.

For the 2009/2010 season, Spyder worked with Vonn to develop a unique suit design for each stop on the World Cup circuit to honor her 2008 and 2009 World Cup overall titles (she has since won her third consecutive title). The designs, exclusively worn by the Olympic gold and bronze medalist during the race season, recognize the athlete's status and individualism yet nodded to the US Ski Team graphics the rest of the World Cup team wore.

The US Ski Team online shop is currently the only outlet offering the eight commemorative designs for sale. An additional, new design will be available at multiple race retail stores beginning in September, the graphic being an update on her signature favorite hot pink plaid motif.

“Through the years we've had a great ongoing relationship with Lindsey, and it's fantastic to have her officially as part of the Spyder family,” said Phil Shettig, Spyder's resort and race general manager. “We formalized a partnership so that we can better support her story.”

“I think these race suit designs are a great way to generate more excitement in our sport and especially appeal to girls and women. I want more females on race courses!” said Vonn.
