Liberated Brands, the master licensee for Volcom and Spyder, announced it officially closed on acquiring Captain Fin Co., the surf brand.
Captain Fin Co has been designing and building surfboard fins, clothing and surfing accessories since 2007 in collaboration with professional surfers, artists, skaters, and musicians.
“Working alongside Danny Gillis and his passionate team, we are excited to apply our collective brand building and operational expertise to Captain Fin’s solid foundation,” said Todd Hymel, CEO, Liberated Brands. “Bolstering its existing business to new levels while strategically and thoughtfully expanding into new categories.”
Liberated Brands expects to onboard and leverage its expertise across Captain Fin’s existing supply chain, sustainability initiatives, global direct-to-consumer model, content creation, and back-office functions to focus on product design, marketing and sales.
