Leki, a manufacturer of skiing, trekking and trail running poles and gloves, replaced its traditional corporate red with pink for the first time in its women’s race poles for the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in St Moritz.
Leki’s women slalom and giant slalom racers, including Mikaela Shiffrin, will be using the poles through February 19.
The two poles featuring the color update are the Venom SL and the WorldCup Racing SL TBS, both equipped with the Trigger S grip system and featuring stability, stiffness and elasticity. The color change will be a first for Leki since the company first introduced race poles back in the 1980s.
Leki first introduced pink in their women’s Nordic poles last biathlon season.
The pink alpine race poles, including the junior WorldCup Lite SL poles, will be available to consumers in fall 2017.
