Legacy Paddlesports LLC has hired angling expert Jimbo Meador to its sales, marketing and R&D team. Meador, who has spent his lifetime living, breathing and working with fishing-related product and services, has been featured in nationally distributed angling articles for both his expertise, experience and deameanor. The company also hired Hansi Johnson to represent their brands in the Upper Midwest, covering Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota.

“There’s no better spokesperson and no more qualified a professional than Jimbo to engage our brands in the sport angling community,” notes Andy Zimmerman, Legacy Paddlesports President and CEO. “Nobody knows fishing like Jimbo, as evidenced by his popularity with nationally-published writers and photographers.

“I’ve fished all my life, and have been fishing from a kayak for ten years,” says Meador. “I am excited about sharing my experiences with others, and to help Legacy’s fishing-related products build equity for both Heritage Kayaks and new brands.” Meador will work across brand lines to be the company’s fishing conscience, expert advisor and advocate for anglers as a growing Paddlesports constituency. He will be building a field Guide Team that works with retailers to encourage kayak angling awareness and education, and contribute articles to both the Heritage website and Legacy enewsletter.

“Hansi has a long history in the outdoor industry,” notes Mike Hooks, Legacy Vice President of U.S. Sales. “Having worked retail and in field sales for outdoor products since his teenage years, he is a particularly avid paddler and skier: we feel lucky to have him on board.”

Hansi is excited about the prospect of selling the Legacy brands. “I see a group of people working together who are professional, successful, and passionate,” notes Johnson about the management team. “They’ve identified a growing niche and have set out to fill it. They are going for it, too, with the facility and ovens: I am impressed, as I think our dealers will be, about the changes that are being made.
