La Sportiva announced the hiring of Wes Green as director of sales. Replacing long time sales leader Mark Day, who has retired, Green joins the brand from Big Agnes. He will lead all of the brand’s sales efforts, including key retail relationships with dealers, direct-to-consumer channels and the network of independent sales reps across North America.

“Wes is a proven leader with a long track record in the outdoor industry and we are pleased that he has agreed to lead our sales efforts,” said Jonathan Lantz, president of La Sportiva North America. “With his experience at retail and at another respected brand, Wes has a diverse skillset that he’ll employ to help us continually evolve and improve our sales.”

Green spent 21 years working at Eastern Mountain Sports in various roles, working his way up through key merchandising and buying roles. He later spent three and a half years at Big Agnes in various roles, most recently as brand manager. He has always been a climber and skier and admired La Sportiva from other vantage points in the industry but now has the opportunity to make his own mark on the brand.

He adds, “most of my career in the outdoor industry has been spent with traditional hard goods, so the opportunity to apply my knowledge to footwear and apparel sales is a new and exciting one to me. La Sportiva is a brand with a strong heritage and exciting products across multiple categories that I am excited to represent. Starting with Outdoor Retailer next week in Denver, I’ll be on the front lines with the brand’s excellent sales team and welcome all the interactions and opportunities that will arise.”
