La Sportiva has acquired a majority stake in the Veneto-based company Meet Italia, a manufacturer that produces Made in Italy mountain footwear. The move “consolidates a strategic partnership that has been in place for over twenty years and will help La Sportiva bolster its domestic production capabilities.”

La Sportive said it is “committed to producing products in Italy and makes a wide range of items at its factory in the Val di Fiemme, a beautiful valley in the Dolomites where the company was founded.”

“The decision to acquire Meet Italia is strategic for us because it allows us to remain in Italy and strengthen our range of unquestionable quality,” said Lorenzo Delladio, president and CEO of La Sportiva. “I want to give special thanks to the Morellato family, with whom I have worked for 25 years. We are aligned in our values and share a deep love for these products and the sports they are made for.”

La Sportiva continues making products in Italy by increasing investment in its Italian factory and developing partnerships with other regional manufacturers. In recent years, the demand for La Sportiva products challenged its domestic production capabilities. La Sportiva said it “is adapting to the demand by expanding its Zano di Fiemma plant investment and growing its production capacity by acquiring Meet Italia, as the two brands have a long history of collaboration.” Meet Italia also “guarantees quality standards to meet the needs of La Sportiva and mountain athletes worldwide.”

Due to these new investment timelines, La Sportiva’s supply schedule improvements will be available in the second half of 2024.
