Michael J. Brown has joined global management consulting firm Kurt Salmon Associates as a Principal in its
North American Retail Operations Practice.

Announcing Mr. Brown's arrival, KSA CEO Bill Pace said, “Michael brings to KSA a breadth of operating and consulting experience in both general merchandise and consumer packaged goods that will serve KSA's clients well.”

Mr. Brown began his retail career with Federated Department Stores' A&S division, where he held positions in buying, store operations, store management, leased businesses, and operations performance improvement. During his career with Federated, Mr. Brown was responsible for operations in Federated's A&S division's largest stores, and was a vice president of
operations, overseeing lease departments, food services, and operations performance improvement for Macy's East.

Mr. Brown transitioned from retail operations to consulting in 1996. He has assisted many leading retailers with U.S. and global store performance improvement initiatives and has led retail operations performance initiatives in multiple retail segments, resulting in strategic cost reductions, comparative store sales growth, and new store implementation strategies.

“Retailers are increasingly aware of the fact that retail effectiveness is all about the consumer and the consumer's in-store experience,” Mr. Pace said.
“Customers demand the seamless execution of available merchandise in an appropriate shopping environment delivered by knowledgeable salespeople using
effective and expediting technology. Michael understands this consumer equation in the retail store experience.”

Mr. Brown resides in Westchester County, NY with his family and is based in
KSA's New York City office.
