Kora, the performance apparel manufacturer made from Yak wool, introduced its technical Yardang Hoodie and half-zip for women and men in four colorways—Black, Deep Purple, Earth Grey, and Brown.
The Yardang Hoodie is a midweight (240gsm) layer made with a blend of 70 percent merino and 30 percent yak wool that is breathable, moisture-wicking, naturally odor-resistant, fast drying, and with softness “on par with cashmere.”
Kora was founded in 2013 and has used Yak Wool as the foundation of its apparel. A natural performance fiber that offers breathability and wicking properties, when woven with merino wool, the hand is “buttery-soft” and wears well all day next to the skin or as a mid-layer.
All Kora products support the Nomadic Yak herders on the Tibetan plateau. The company’s Yak wool is sourced and collected by the Kegawa Herders’ Cooperative, a collective of more than 90 families in the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. By sourcing Yak wool directly from the Himalayan plateau nomads, Kora ensures the quality of its fabrics and directly contributes to supporting its Tibetan nomad partners.
