Kohl's Corporation reported February sales for the four-week period ended March 3, 2007 increased 12.8% over the prior year. On a comparable store basis, sales increased 4.4%.
On March 3, the company operated 817 stores in 45 states, compared to 732 in 41 states at the same time last year.
Kohl's said it will open seven new stores today. In April, it plans to open ten additional stores, including its initial entry into Idaho. The balance of its planned 110-115 stores for 2007 are expected to open in the third fiscal quarter.
