Kohl's Department Stores has announced that Chris Capuano is joining the company as executive vice president-general merchandise manager Home and Footwear. She will report directly to Kevin Mansell, Kohl's president.

Capuano, 45, will be responsible for strategic management of the Home and Footwear division. Her efforts will be focused on continued improvement in merchandise quality and content.

“Chris is a proven retail executive with a wealth of progressive department store experience. Her 24-year track record of broad-based business management couples the art of merchandising and leadership with financial acumen. She is ideally suited as we continue to focus on merchandise newness,” said Mansell. “We welcome her valuable insight as we continue to execute our brands, value and convenience strategy coast to coast.”

Prior to joining Kohl's, Capuano was senior vice president-Home for Federated Merchandising Group. During her eight-year tenure, she held a number of increasingly responsible positions and was credited with strong leadership development, successful exclusive and private brand launches and overall profitability improvement. This success mirrored her distinguished 16-year career with Macy's, where she was vice president-divisional merchandise manager Home Textiles, before joining Federated.
