Klean Kanteen named Jim Osgood,  a product development consultant and former executive with The Coleman Co. as its new president.

Osgood brings 25 years of extensive business and product development leadership experience to Klean Kanteen. Previously the founder and owner of Slickrock Concepts, a product strategy and development firm in Parker, CO, Osgood has served as an executive with global corporations including The Coleman Company and Baxa Corporation.

My top priority at Klean Kanteen will be innovation, Osgood stated. We are actively and aggressively investing in new products and have a pipeline of unique designs that we will be launching later this fall and into 2012, and that is just the beginning.

Since the company was founded in 2004, Klean Kanteen has seen significant growth due to the rising awareness of toxins such as BPA. Klean Kanteen has become a leader in the BPA-free movement and a solutions-based innovator, striving to change the way we eat and drink by eliminating single-use waste such as plastic bottles.

Osgood will play a major part in managing a dramatically expanding customer base, making sure capabilities and internal systems keep pace with growth as well as continuing to innovate and expand global reach while staying rooted in the original company goal: to provide affordable, high-quality alternatives to single-use containers that are good for people, and good for the planet.

One of Osgoods first acts of business will be to hire a director of global sales, a position for which the company is currently actively recruiting.

Weve just scratched the surface in the single-use market, stated Osgood. To continue this transformation, were growing and developing our internal talent while adding new expertise and leadership to strategic positions.

Osgood, who began work last month, is married with two boys and has recently relocated from Denver, CO to the Klean Kanteen homebase of Chico, CA. He is an avid cyclist, skier and snowboader and part-time triathlete. He has also been an invited guest lecturer and speaker at numerous academic and new product development industry forums.
