Kitsbow announced a new partnership with the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA), one of the oldest mountain bike organizations in the United States, which works in six states and is supported by 8,000 members.
In celebration of NEMBA’s 35th anniversary, Kitsbow created a special edition of its wool Icon shirt, Merino wool Lory top for women and Merino wool Escalator top for men in a wide variety of fits and sizes, featuring the association’s 35th Anniversary logo. And for every garment sold, Kitsbow will give back 25 percent of the proceeds to NEMBA in a charitable donation to support advocacy, stewardship and the New England region’s bike community.
“We are proud of the decades of work and community support NEMBA has provided the rider community, and this is right in line with our own work as a public benefit corporation owned by the employees,” said David Billstrom, Kitsbow CEO.
“This opportunity to collaborate with Kitsbow, an organization that shares our values of community, sustainability and advocacy, is something we couldn’t pass up,” explained Mick Ferraro, director of membership and outreach, NEMBA. “We’re stoked to share this amazing apparel with our NEMBA community to commemorate our 35th Anniversary.”
NEMBA’s 8,000 members have provided 30,000 hours of volunteer work for hundreds of trail and maintenance projects. The group provides education, training and financial grants for trail projects and operates 32 chapters across six states.
The Kitsbow NEMBA collection, with all of the apparel it manufactures, is created one at a time in its Old Fort, NC facility. Kitsbow makes the Icon, Escalator and Lory shirts in the size, color and fit to order, reducing waste and unnecessary products.
