Daniel Lubetzky, founder of Kind snack bar, made a $1 million investment in Yellow Leaf Hammocks. The investment was revealed on the “Shark Tank” television show’s season finale, which aired on Friday.
Lubetzky was the guest “Sharks” on the show, which also included Mark Cuban, Kevin O’Leary, Lori Greiner and Robert Herjavec. Founders, Joe Demin and Rachel Connors, presented on the show.
The deal will be facilitated through Lubetzky’s family office, Equilibra.
Yellow Leaf Hammocks, launched at the end of 2011 and based in San Francisco, makes sustainable hammocks handwoven by hill-tribe artisans in rural Thailand. A certified B Corporation, Yellow Leaf Hammocks’ efforts support Thailand’s endangered Mlabri Tribe and the company’s mission is to propagate sustainable economic development for marginalized groups and help to eradicate deforestation and toxic agriculture in the region.
