Kellwood Company has completed the purchase of Phat Fashions, its licensing organization and its trademarks, Phat Farm, Baby Phat, and Phat.

Together we have the fashion style and vision of Russell Simmons and Kimora Lee Simmons along with our infrastructure and retailer relationships. We are eager to expand and enhance the Phat Fashions brands,” said Hal J. Upbin, Kellwood chairman and chief executive officer.
Phat Fashions will operate as a subsidiary of Kellwood. Russell Simmons will remain at the helm of Phat Fashions as CEO. Kimora Lee Simmons will continue as president and creative director for the Baby Phat division.
