Kellwood has acquired Zobha, a high performance yoga and fitness apparel and accessories company, according to Michael Kramer, president and CEO of Kellwood. Zobha is the first activewear business to join Kellwood’s growing portfolio.

Zobha, based out of Mill Valley, CA, designs for individuals who lead active lifestyles and want clothing that is both functional and stylish. Launched in February 2008, founder Jamie Hanna was inspired by the Sanskrit word “Zobha” which means “grace, beauty and brilliance,” and aimed to channel these elements in the creation of her women’s apparel line, which pays close attention to form, fit, and function while maintaining style. In addition to selling performance yoga wear, Zobha also offers a complete collection of loungewear including tees, tunics, pullovers, and hoodies. Zobha outfits both men and women and sells a number of quality accessories like yoga mats, headbands and mat carriers. The company also offers a line of maternity yoga apparel for expecting mothers.

Zobha is available in 350 retail stores in 27 countries as well as online at its e-commerce site, zobha.com and at leading yoga studios and fitness clubs. Zobha products have been featured in a number of popular magazines including O, The Oprah Magazine, Lucky, Self, Fitness, More, Prevention, and Pilates Style. The company supports a number of charitable organizations, including Headstand and Breast Cancer Awareness, through an effort known as The Zobha Foundation.

“Zobha is an incredible brand that serves a category of the marketplace with tremendous growth potential,” added Kramer. “Jamie and her team have created an amazing organization and I look forward to partnering with them to further develop the brand.”

“Kellwood has a very impressive portfolio of brands and I am honored to add Zobha to that list,” said Jamie Hanna, founder and CEO of Zobha. “Partnering with Kellwood will enable us to grow Zobha quickly and strategically so that we can reach more people with our beautiful product and brand that inspires an active, healthy lifestyle.”
